About

J Paul Gordon writes literary speculative fiction concerned with memory, ideology, moral responsibility, and the endurance of love under political systems of power.

He studied Soviet and East European history, with particular interest in the relationship between political authority, historical memory, and religious life under totalitarian regimes. These concerns inform much of his fiction, which blends speculative and philosophical elements with psychologically driven literary narrative.

His debut novel, The Whisper of Falling Snow, is set in the late twenty-first century, in a future society shaped by surveillance, ideological conformity, and the quiet administration of death. Through the intertwined lives of Party official Gregory Stepanov, State Security operative Jeffrey Dane, and those bound to them by memory and love, the novel explores conscience, complicity, forgiveness, and the persistence of human attachment in the face of political power.

The Whisper of Falling Snow will be published in July 2026. Preorders are available through Amazon.

Additional novels set within the same fictional universe are in progress, including The Unspeakable City.

He lives with his wife in Clinton, Massachusetts.
